Vintage 14K Yellow Gold Carl-Art Pearl Brooch Pendant 5.4gms
Anvil Fine Wares Price: $695 in Superb Pre-Owned Condition
Carl-Art was founded by Carl Schraysshuen and Arthur Loercher in Providence, Rhode Island in 1936 after Schraysshuen emigrated to the United States from Germany around 1930. They produced beautiful gold and sterling jewelry through the war years until Schraysshuen died in 1953. His wife ran the company for many years after his death, and according to the history of the company there appear to be no creations marked Carl-Art beyond 1992.
This gorgeous piece is clearly hallmarked and we included a photo showing the Carl-Art maker's mark. It's solid 14K yellow gold, polished on the reverse and beautifully textured on the front. It boasts three Freshwater white pearls and brooch hardware on the reverse. Fortunately, the brooch pin is situated such that this also works well as a pendant, as shown in our photos.
It measures 1.5" x 1" and weighs 5.4 grams. As you can see by our photos, the entire piece is in exemplary condition, especially for a vintage piece that is, at minimum, 30+years old but likely much older.
