This piece comes from designer James Avery, who's been designing jewelry in Sterling Silver and solid gold since 1954. Though we didn't include a photo, the inside of the shank features his trademark three-flame candle hallmark flanked by "J" and "A" and the requisite "585" solid 14K yellow gold hallmark underneath.
It's crafted of solid 14K Yellow Gold with a beautifully-saturated 8mm x 6mm Red Garnet center stone. While the gold band and setting show minor surface marks from normal wear, the Red Garnet looks fantastic and has been nicely preserved.
The ring is a size 8 as measured on our own ring sizing mandrel, and it weighs a full 7.9 grams - it's a heavy setting. At current gold prices of $2645 as of 1/2/25, the melt value of just the gold in the ring alone is almost $395, so our price is a very modest premium above gold melt value for such a pretty design and a beautiful Red Garnet.
