We are excited to present a very rare treat, back on consignment. AFW sold three of these bracelets back in our early days, between 2012 and 2015, but we haven't seen one for close to a decade. Bellarri just isn't designing pieces like this anymore - with gold near $3K per ounce, the gold weight alone on this bracelet would require a retail price approaching $20K before a single gemstone or diamond was cut and added. All in, with gemstones and labor, retail would be approaching $40K to bring this bracelet back to market today.
From her much-loved "Venus" Collection, it's an 18K Yellow Gold masterclass in jewelry design, and it would be the centerpiece in many jewelry collections. It features 30.10 carats combined of all-natural, earth-mined Blue Topaz, Amethyst, Rhodolite, Citrine and Green Tourmaline. Add a full .46ctw of F/G color VS/SI clarity White Diamonds and you have a stunning array of color and sparkle.
As you enjoy our photos, take note of the differing cuts Bellarri designed into this bracelet. The top setting features faceted cylindrical cuts, while the side galleries feature a tapered-length array of faceted-table gems, all color-matched, creating a Fleur de Lis design.
Also, take note of the gold filigree. Of course, you'll find beautiful filigree underneath, with plenty of Bellarri "B"s to remind you that you're wearing a real Bellarri bracelet, but also notice that she designed filigree into the front and back side gallery corner sections below the top gemstone settings. Those are areas where she, as a designer, could have shaved complexity and cost off the design of the gold mold required to create this piece, but instead used every bit of open space to add beauty and thought to the design.
The top setting measures .8" wide across the setting (arm direction) and a full 2" from side to side. Total weight is 46.8 grams, so it weighs more than 1.5 ounces.
It is a full opening bangle, with double figure-8 safety catches to keep it safely on your wrist. Internal circumference is measured at exactly 6.5", so this will fit most comfortably on wrists measuring up to 6.75" in circumference. It can be squeezed onto a 7" wrist and will be snug but not uncomfortable, but that's the maximum wearable size.
It is a pre-owned item, and 18K gold is a relatively soft metal, so this bracelet is not retail-new or flawless. It was well cared for, not abused in the slightest, and has only the minimum amount of wear on the gold, but no more than you'd expect with an 18K piece that has actually been out of someone's house. And we are very happy to report that all of the wear on this bracelet is on the gold at the bottom of the bangle, exactly where you'd expect it to be, from normal contact with desks, counters, etc. The gemstone array is absolutely flawless - the top setting does look retail-new. From where we sit, that's the most important thing - preservation of the gemstone setting, and in this case you'll be elated every time you look down at this beauty. Again, it's not flawless, but the minor wear is only on the gold, so even picky buyers should be happy.
