This unusual piece has no hallmarks, so we believe it's either a Native American "old pawn" item or the hallmarks were rubbed out over time.  It has been fully tested via non-destructive acid testing to confirm that the entire shank and setting are solid 14K yellow gold.   It's a heavy ring as well, weighting 16.3 grams, more than half an ounce of 14K gold.
 
The setting holds a beautiful and charismatic polished slice of Turquoise that is Royal Blue in color and boasts geologic striations of what looks like Malachite as well.   This is not an inlaid creation - Mother Nature made this chunk of Turquoise this way with Malachite adjoining.  
 
The top setting measures 1" x .85" and the band is a size 9 as measured on our own ring sizing mandrel.
 
Our dealer partner had this in their showcase for $1495, but we're offering it for $500 less at $995.  And we have to price it there because of the gold weight - there's $750 in gold melt value alone.
